Unholy Times
Muddling through this mild winter,
infrequent snow, abnormal warmth
geese have crisscrossed skies.
Great Recession and political cacaphony
wink and blink and blare in stridency,
salvos amid unemployed, homeless.
The disenchanted of this global village
have heightened appetite; thirty four
million iphones to satiate unholy demand.
America’s nine-percent unemployed
circle uncertain, yearning for safe harbor.
