Bedfellow
Following the June birth
of my first child
back in 1961
Doctor Riley
chose to deny my request
for birth control pills
saying contraception
was contrary
to his religion
Ten months later
my premature son
arrived
delivered by Doctor Riley
at the Catholic hospital
incurring much
amusement among the staff
who referred to my babies as
"Irish Twins"
No children
on Mothers' Day, 1961
and two children
on Mothers' Day, 1962
